So you may be wondering, what is this blog about? Why should I read it?
We all have a story. Most of us have struggled with our mental health to varying degrees. For some, like myself, it can be absolutely crippling, completely tearing your life apart. It can be difficult if not impossible to hold down a job, get out of bed, keep friendships long term, or even go a week without having a panic attack or emotional breakdown.
You’re not alone.
This blog will help you not feel so alone or misunderstood. It took many, many years, tons of therapy, alternative therapies, plant medicine, meditation, shadow work, inner child work, breakdowns, self help books, self help podcasts, and so much more. I’m here to tell you it is absolutely possible to overcome even the worst cases of depression, anxiety disorders, and even complex PTSD. I can confidently say that because I have done it, and you can too.
I’m not gonna sugarcoat it – healing takes work, and a lot of it. It’s a daily practice, and you have to practice it over and over again.
The first step is acceptance: this is where I am, I will start here, and that’s ok.
The next biggest step is to start working on self awareness. If we aren’t aware of an issue, we can’t work on it.
Forgiving the past self will allow us to let go of the past to be able to move forward and focus on the present rather than the past.
